Compromise of Arrears Program

In certain child support cases, the Compromise of Arrears Program (COAP) allows for a parent to pay less than his or her total arrears.

If your child was previously placed in foster care, or with a guardian or relative and is now living with you, you could qualify to have the amount of past due child support (arrears) that you owe reduced or eliminated through the Family Reunification Compromise of Arrears Program.

Obtaining an application

Contact Child Support Services and request a COAP application be mailed to you. Once you receive an application, you must complete it and provide any additional information required in order to be considered for the program.
